Our impact
For more than 12 years, DUO for a JOB has been deploying its intergenerational and intercultural mentoring program to unleash the potential of young people, enhance the experience of 50+ people and change the way we look at diversity.

Current societal challenges

🎯 Ambitious employment rate
Governments have set a goal of 80% employment rate by 2030 which involves promoting a more rapid and effective entry of young people into the labor market.

🫥 Labour shortage
Belgium is facing a growing labour shortage. Across all sectors, nearly 185,000 positions await candidates.

🐙 End-of-career planning
Employability andcareer-long learning have become priority areas for private employers and for the State.

💔 Polarization of society
The lack of connections between citizens and generations creates intense social tensions and prevents the formation of a cohesive society.

Measure to act better!
The positive impact of our mentoring program is linked to its intergenerational, inclusive and innovative nature.
Since the creation of the association in 2013, we have deployed a systematic data collection methodology allowing us to measure and monitor numerous indicators relating to:
Operations: participation rate, socio-demographic profiles of mentors and mentees, positive exit rates
Quality of service: conversion rate, mentor/mentee evaluation forms, satisfaction rate
Profitability: fund structure, costs per duo

We also collaborate with consulting firms, researchers and public organizations to scientifically validate our impact and contribute to the recognition of mentoring as a tool for social and professional inclusion. In addition, DUO for a JOB is regularly referenced as a “good practice” by numerous national and international organizations: OECD, European Commission, Itinera etc.
Concrete and long-term results
Independence and autonomy
90% of mentees Feel more independent and autonomous in their job search.
Professional network
77% of young people Were able to expand their network professional and/or social.
Active citizenship
96% of mentors Feel more useful as an active member of society.
Personal development
84% of mentors have developed their skills in terms of coaching (active listening, empathy...)
A profitable investment
Supporting DUO for a JOB is an effective investment for public authorities and donors. The program in fact makes it possible to obtain quick and convincing results in terms of employment of young job seekers who are often very far from the job market (NEET, long-term unemployed).
It is also a profitable investment:
Each euro invested in the program generates a social return on investment (SROI) of 18 euros for public authorities.
This SROI was obtained by comparing the economic value of the costs avoided for the community thanks to the jobs found by the beneficiaries with the total cost of the support program.
